The Soulmate Ideology

Picture this:

You are wandering in a dark and infinitely-large room, along with every other individual who is in the pursuit of romance. As you go about your life, you meet some people who you consider to be romantically attractive. However the relationship eventually shows itself not be destined. Then once in a blue moon, you meet someone who elicits the faintest glimmer of love within you. As a female, you wonder if this could be the one, if you could unclasp the secret pieces of your heart to him. Now as a male when you first set your eyes on her you start to understand the impulse that first inspired men to paint, to sculpt, to sing. This love switches on a glow that seems to exude from the very depths of your soul connecting you to the one person who ignited it. This light acts as a tether of sorts, guiding you through the darkness of this immense room towards your newly found lover. As both of you continue along this path you talk of small things, you spend time in company, you hold hands and in doing this you slowly learn the secret meanings behind each other's words because while your mouths might speak the same language, your hearts do not. That faint glimmer of light that once shone begins to glow even brighter with even more ferocity making the love between the both of you even more inebriating. You soon reach a level of elation so incomparable that 'love' is the only word you can use to describe it. It is in this way you believe to have found your 'soulmate'; but as all stories go there must be a tragedy. So something goes wrong between your perfect union, a partner cheats, deceives you, lies or simply 'falls out of love' and as a consequence, the incandescent light that once shone from the depths of your soul begins to fade until only the most imperceptible of sparks remain; and as time goes on you soon find another faint glow within yourself being ignited by yet another 'soulmate'.

  1. You were right. It was gonna be moist. I'm glad you started. It's easy to appreciate the maturity with which you approached a very youthful endeavour.
